Our Story: Building a North Carolina Classic
Cypress Landing Golf Club is a twenty year young
Nestled in a stunning, serene waterfront golf and boating community on Chocowinity Bay in Eastern North Carolina, the course has been rated as 4 stars by Golf Digest. Designed by Bill Love, it features ultra -dwarf Mini Verdi greens and Bermuda fairways. The course is both challenging and picturesque.
A Brief History of Cypress Landing Golf Club (CLGC)
The community and the course were developed by Weyerhaeuser in 1996. The course was designed to wind through the development in such a way as to enhance the beauty and the value of the 720 home sites which surround it. In January of 2002, the CLGC Articles of Incorporation were filed for the purpose of forming a nonprofit corporation and the initial Board of Governors of the golf course was formally established. In December of 2002, the Cypress Landing Master Homeowners Association purchased the course from Weyerhaeuser and leased it to the CLGC, which assumed all operation and maintenance responsibilities.
Designed for All Levels of Play
The Club has six Tee sets ranging from Friendly to Pro. This ensures an engaging experience for players at every skill level. The Club prides itself on play-ability, the fun factor, and natural beauty. It is one of only 23 courses in North Carolina designated in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program.

Playing with Purpose
Tournaments for a Cause. The Cypress Landing Golf Club schedules many member hosted community events such as the Regional High School Championship Finals, The Beaufort County EMS Tournament, The Crime Stoppers tournament, and fund raising events for both Ruth’s House and the Arts of Pamlico Center in neighboring Washington. Club members proudly sponsor an annual Military Appreciation Day Event inviting men and women of our armed services to a day of golf, fun and food, a great way to thank them for their service. Over 100 residents of Cypress Landing and local businesses participate in making the event a great success, raising several thousands of dollars for Fisher House. The Club also hosts both Ladies’ and Men’s PGA Pro Am Tournaments.
In addition, the Club hosts several events which compliment the array of membership golf tournaments: The Masters Tournament, Club Championships, Couples Tournaments, the WGA Solheim Cup and MGA Ryder Cup.
Reciprocal Member Play
Club members enjoy reduced reciprocal rates with many regional courses and access to many other private courses through Boxgroove services. Both women and men members participate in outside golfing events such as the Down East Women’s Golf Association, Crystal Coast Women’s Golf Association and The Northeastern NC Retired Men’s Golf Association.
